The Translation Process

My translations stay as true as possible to the original text. At the same time, I change as much as is needed for successful localization. Why? Translation is not a simple transfer of words from one language into another. Therefore, the result can never be a one-to-one copy of the original. Instead, as a translator I am acutely aware of linguistic and cultural differences, which I strive to render accurately in the target language.

Important notice: I offer professional translation services. However, in some cases, it may be advisable to have the translation edited by an additional editing professional. Why? Even the best professional translators may struggle with tunnel vision after a while, especially when working on large text projects, which may lead to inconsistencies. A translation editor helps maintain the readibility of the text and elevate the quality of the translation. The effect is similar to the editing process of a regular text.

What exactly are standard line and standard page? Learn more about how to calculate standard pages here.

Explanation

Standard line and standard page are standard sizes to determine the length of any text. The exact lenght is critical for price calculations.

Standard Page

One standard page is defined here as 30 lines with 55 strokes (incl. white space) or as 1,650 strokes (incl. white space).

Standard Line

One standard line is defined here as 55 strokes (incl. white space).

Sample Calculation

Divide the total number of strokes (incl. white space) by 55 (the number of strokes in one standard line).

Example:

Your text consists of 550 strokes (incl. white space). This equals 10 standard lines.

Your text constists of 13,750 strokes (incl. white space). This equals 250 standard lines.
